Civic Cycling Loop Posted: Tuesday, 20 October 2009Pedal Power has proposed a Civic Cycle Loop to bring the best type of congestion to Civic - cycle congestion. The proposal incorporates Copenhagen-style separated cycle lanes and shared space to provide safety. You will be able to use the Loop to connect with many of Civic's major destinations. The Loop will connect the Sullivan's Creek and Lake Burley Griffin bike paths. Click through below for Civic Cycling Loop proposal. Also below are plans for one of our suggested options for Bunda St.
In a small place like Canberra your email in support of the proposal will have an impact. You can join over 100 others who have emailed their support to Jon Stanhope, Chief Minister and Minister for Territory and Municipal Services. Cc: your email to the Greens and Liberal Shadow Ministers, Caroline Le Couteur and Alistair Coe, Stanhope@act.gov.au, LeCouteur@act.gov.au , Coe@act.gov.au
Your email does not have to be literary masterpiece but you do have to do it! Even a simple email is good, for example:
Dear Mr Stanhope,
I am writing in support of Pedal Power's Civic Cycle Loop. I think it is great that it connects up East and West Civic and links the two most popular cycle paths in Canberra. I hope you can support it as part of your Sustainable Transport Plan.
Thank you,
