On Sunday 22 May 2016, the Country Riders group will continue its “100 km-in-a-day” exploration of the beautiful countryside in the capital region.
The group will start at Hall Village at 8:30 am to ride to Murrumbateman (for morning tea) via Nanima Road and Murrumbateman Road.
After morning tea, the group will strike out on the backroads to the north-east of Murrumbateman, connecting with Yass River Road for a 20 km dirt odyssey before rejoining the tar for a ride into Gundaroo for hot focaccia or pizza, then back to HALL via Sutton Road, Mulligans Flat Road and Horse Park Drive cycle path.
- Ride distance: 100 km
- Terrain is undulating (occasionally hilly)
- 25 km of the ride is on good quality dirt roads (suitable for cyclocross or wider-tyred bikes)
- Return time approximately 5 pm – participants should fit lights to their bikes
