Conducting an event the size of the Big Canberra Bike Ride would not be possible without the dedication of the volunteers who committed their time to ensuring everyone had the best possible experience on the day.
From the registration desk, to manning the aid stations, sweeping the course or marshalling riders along the route – there were Pedal Power ACT volunteers spread across the four courses and without them we would not have been able to hold the event.
Thank you also to our wonderful sponsors, event partners and event hub vendors, who all worked together to make the Big Canberra Bike Ride as fun and successful as possible this year.
And finally, thank you to everyone who rode in the 2017 Big Canberra Bike Ride, and those who raised money for the Amy Gillett Foundation.
We have raised $16,335 so far, and you can still fundraise and donate money to support safe cycling in Australia with the AGF. Our top individual fundraiser is currently Oggie Princip, who has raised an impressive $1,728.68 for the Amy Gillett Foundation. And thank you to the top fundraising team, Australian Transport Safety Bureau, who have so far raised $1,421.80.
A special thank you to the United Arab Emirates Embassy, who pledged $1000.00 at the event. The UAE Embassy regularly enter a large team in the Big Canberra Bike Ride, and we love seeing them at the event every year.
