CBR LBS is a spotlight on the wonderful Local Bike Shops (LBS) in Canberra. We’ll be featuring different Local Bike Shops weighing in on topics like buying bikes and bike equipment, how to keep your bike operating at its best, new products and much more.

It’s nearly the end of June, and we all know what that means: mid-winter in Canberra.

Warm yourself up with a trip to your local bike shop. Need an upgrade? Perhaps you need to buy some more warm layers, to get yourself through the rest of winter on your bike. Or a new bike light for those foggy mornings and early dusk.

Most of the stores around Canberra have End of Financial Year Sales on now. Those that don’t are starting to see new 2018 stock roll in, so either way you won’t be wasting a trip to your local.

Show them some love – we want our valuable local bike shops to stick around, and the only way to ensure that happens is to get in there and support them.

Ride 365 in Belconnen has been featuring a new EOFY bike deal on their Facebook page every week. This week it’s a beautiful 2017 Merida Scultura SE (S/M) at just $3300.

Check out the Ride 365 Facebook page to see what else they’ve got in store.

Pushys wants to warm you up this end-of-financial-year with some new winter cycling clothes to keep you comfortable on those freezing Canberra mornings.

Both stores at the Fyshwick location have a huge amount of winter apparel on the floor, so get down there and try on some EOFY deals for size.

The Cyclery have the new Specialized Diverge in store, and they’re convinced that it is the bike that will revolutionise cycling. It’s a hybrid in the best sense of the word, making no compromises regardless of how you want to use it.

“The specs on this new bike are pretty awesome,” said The Cyclery’s Mick Hart.

“It is a game changer, it’s basically three bikes in one – road, commuter and adventure.”

Check it out below, and also on the Cyclery website. But as always, the best way to get a look at a new bike is at your local bike shop. Go and ask the guys at the Cyclery if you can take one out for a spin.
