You don’t have to be Dutch to dress in orange and join in the fun this weekend.
On Sunday 30 April the Dutch Festival ‘Oranjefeest’ will be held at Albert Hall in Yarralumla.
Albert Hall will be filled with Dutch entertainment, games for the children, face-painting and plenty of Dutch delicacies like poffertjes.
There are hours of fun for the kids with the bicycle games at the forecourt, while parents can test ride e-bikes and Dutch city bikes provided by Pushys from Fyshwick and cargo bikes provided by Dutch Cargo Bikes from Melbourne.
A fun family dress-up-your-bike ride will be held around the central basin of Lake Burley Griffin, finishing at Albert Hall in time for the festival.
Dress yourself, your bike and your kids in orange and join a convoy led by the Ambassador of the Netherlands – the Patron of Pedal Power ACT – and a bunch of Dutch people for a short crazy ride around the lake. The best-dressed bike will receive the inaugural Oranjefeest Orange Ride Orange Award!
The bike ride on Sunday April 30, 2017 will start at 9am from Nara Park. Please arrive by 8.45am. Entry to the bike ride and the event is free.
