ACT Trail Tours (1)

Explore your own backyard with Pedal Power ACT’s new ACT Trail Tours.

Trail Tours are a series of rides that will be offered to the public throughout October and November 2017. If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to try trail riding, now is your chance.

Earlier this year a Nature Play grant allowed Pedal Power ACT to train a new cohort of mountain biking ride leaders, and we now look forward to giving back to the community by running a series of weekend rides, guided by these ride leaders.

“This is a fantastic program to provide introductory mountain-biking recreation activities for the Canberra community,” said Pedal Power EO John Armstrong.

“It is also Pedal Power ACT’s first foray into cycle-tourism in the ACT, and we hope to attract both locals and visitors to Canberra to experience the great mountain-biking that is available in our region.”

Trail Tours will offer both easy and intermediate guided rides over the course of the 10 weeks, with rides ranging from 1.5 – 2 hours in duration. Participation will cost $10.00 per person, per ride. Each ride will have a ride leader and tail ender (or sweep) as part of the ride. Spaces are limited to 15 persons per ride, so register your interest today to be the first to know when we open the bookings.

The rides will be spread across common ACT trails and graded for fitness and difficulty.

Nature Play grants aim to assist with new or existing projects that support being active and increase community participation in nature-based outdoor activities and events.

Enjoying time in nature is integral to our health and well-being and Pedal Power ACT is committed to help ensure there are plenty of opportunities for Canberrans to participate in active recreation outdoors to enrich their everyday lives.
