Girls on Bikes is a free program that aims to mobilise and empower women and girls in Canberra.
It is aimed primarily at migrant and refugee women, and aims to use bike riding to enable fitness, strength, independence and a sense of community.
The program includes a free bike, donated by other members of the community, and a sponsored spot in Pedal Power ACT’s Cycle Well Learn-to-Ride program. Cycle Well will run over five weeks from 22 October-19 November on Sunday afternoons from 3:30-430pm.
If you or any women you know would like to join the Girls on Bikes community and learn to ride, get in touch! Any queries can be directed to Sophie at firstname.lastname@example.org or 0400 540 402.
