Graduates of past New Horizons cycling courses are out on the bike paths every week – and braving some very hot morning rides.

“Some of us have raised the ‘dork factor’ with sun protection hats from the Cancer Council,” say NH graduates, Annette Bartlett (left) and Deb Heath,

“Although we look pretty funny, these hats work a treat.”

Annette and Deb are encouraging Pedal Power members to spread the word about the next New Horizons course starting 15 March.

New Horizons will turn the novice or nervous rider into a capable cyclist,’ Annette said.

‘You will be taught properly from the ground up, learn new skills and become more confident and fitter as the course continues over 9 weeks.

‘You will meet some great people and it’s very social. We always have a cafe stop which is a good way to get to know other participants.

‘Since Deb and I did our respective New Horizons courses, we’ve been riding regularly with Pedal Power mates. It’s brilliant.’

To secure a place in New Horizons, call 6248 7995, email office@pedalpower.org.au, or simply register.
