Jeremy Scott was born with a huge hole in his aorta valve that cruelly denied him the opportunity to live the life of a normal healthy child, and Jeremy underwent open heart Surgery at just four years old.
In 2011, with practically no experience or training, Jeremy took the unbelievably courageous plunge and began a two and a half year, 51,916km bicycle ride from London to New Zealand. Jeremy’s journey took him through 29 countries, and he raised $18,500 for the Australian, British and New Zealand Heart Foundations.
This year, Jeremy is raising funds once again for the Heart Foundation through the Big Heart Appeal, a community-led campaign that takes place each September. Heart disease is still the single biggest killer of Australians, taking a life every 27 minutes. It does not discriminate, affecting young and old, men and women.
Join Jeremy for a morning tea and book signing on Monday 7 September to hear his amazing story. Copies of Jeremy’s book documenting his journey, The Long Road From A Broken Heart will also be available for purchase.
