Spring has finally arrived in Canberra, and with it news that this year’s National Ride2Work Day will take place on Wednesday 12 October.

More than 150,000 Australians are expected to demonstrate the power of the pedal as they hop on their bikes and enjoy the health benefits of riding to work.

“Riding to work or school is a great way to get some incidental exercise and avoid rush hour stress. It fits in perfectly with a busy lifestyle,” said Pedal Power ACT CEO John Armstrong.

Pedal Power ACT will be holding a breakfast this year on Wednesday 12 October in Veterans Park on Bunda Street and Eastlake Football Club will holding a breakfast in Kingston on Oxley Street. Both of the events will run from 7am to 9am.

Make sure to put the event in your calendar and we'll see you there with your bike!

National Ride2Work Day is a celebration of commuter riding across Australia. Held every October, the day celebrates the benefits of riding to work and brings together the communities that support it.

The main objective of the day is to encourage more Australians to ride to work on a regular basis. We hope that people who have never ridden to work before to give it a go. Frequent riders can use Ride2Work Day to stay motivated and encourage their workmates to get involved.

Ride2Work Day plays an important role in inspiring Australians to jump on their bikes and get active.
