The head of San Francisco’s transport planning body, Timothy Papandreou, has been in Canberra talking about how his city ended the ‘cycle wars’ and made cycling an effective part of the public transport mix.

Speaking at a recent public forum, Papandreou said Canberra already has many of the essential elements a city needs to encourage and support transport options than private vehicles. Upon arriving in Canberra Papandreou took to his bike with Pedal Power representatives for a first-hand look at the capital’s existing cycling infrastructure.
