There will be a number of temporary road closures in Gungahlin Town Centre in the coming weeks to complete works associated with the signalisation of the Kate Crace Street and The Valley Avenue intersection, light rail and the extension of Ernest Cavanagh Street.

Signalisation

The following temporary road closures will be in place from Monday 14 to Thursday 17 January daily from 9.30 am to 4 pm:
• Kate Crace Street will be closed in both directions from Camilleri Way to Flemington Road
• The Valley Avenue will be closed in both directions from Hinder Street to Manning Clark Crescent
• Efkarpidis Street will be closed in both directions from Kate Crace Street to approximately 45 metres west towards Hinder Street.

There will be no access for road users or pedestrians. During the closures, road users travelling along Anthony Rolfe Avenue and The Valley Avenue will be detoured via Hinder Street and Manning Clark Crescent. In the event of inclement weather, these closures may be required on subsequent days

Light rail 

The following temporary road closures will be in place from 6 pm on Friday 18 January to 6 am on Monday 21 January:
• Flemington Road will be closed in both directions from Manning Clark Crescent (North) to Kate Crace Street
• Kate Crace Street will be closed northbound from Efkarpidis Street to Ernest Cavanagh Street
• Kate Crace Street will be closed southbound from Anthony Rolfe Avenue to Efkarpidis Street
• Ernest Cavanagh Street will be closed in both directions from Kate Crace Street to Manning Clark Crescent (North).

The intersection will be closed in stages to traffic over this period. Detours will be in place and promoted on Canberra Metro’s website.

Extension of Ernest Cavanagh Street

A southbound closure will be in place on Kate Crace Street between Anthony Rolfe Avenue and Ernest Cavanagh Street from Monday 21 to Friday 25 January daily between the hours of 7 am and
5 pm. These works are expected to take approximately three days. There will be no access for road users or pedestrians. Road users travelling along Anthony Rolfe Avenue and The Valley Avenue will be detoured via Hinder Street and Manning Clark Crescent. Pedestrians will be detoured on the western side of Kate Crace Street.
