The Lake Burley Griffin Central Basin will host a number of Australia Day events on Saturday 26 January.
Traffic conditions on Barrine Drive will change from Thursday 24 January, although this will not restrict bicycles travelling through the area.
Fireworks will be set up on Commonwealth Bridge, with the eastern shared path crossing closed between 6am and 11pm on Australia Day. Commonwealth Bridge will be completely closed for approximately 23 minutes for the fireworks display between 8:55pm and 9:18pm.
There will also be a flag raising event which will cause some interruptions to path usage. On 25 January access to the parade ground at Rond Terrace around the foreshore of Regatta Point will be closed from 7:30am to 11:30am. On 26 January there will be path closures from 7:00am until approximately 10:30am. Signs will be attached to fencing to advise of alternative routing.
Riders are urged to use caution on the day, or avoid the area if possible.
