Social and information night
John Widdup will give a presentation about a two-week 800 km pedal-cycle ride in eastern Tibet (Lhasa to Mt Everest base camp and beyond) by eleven Pedal Power ACT members in September 2016.
The talk will cover the roads and terrain, the stunning scenery and agricultural activities and observations of the dominant Han Chinese control of the western province (Tibet).
There will be an explanation of the effects that the high altitude (4000 m to 5000+ m) and long climbs over high passes had on the riding capabilities of the participants.
The talk will be supplemented with magic lantern slides.
All are welcome. Come along early to join us for dinner. Stay after the presentation for coffee and a chat.
When: Tuesday 21 February 2017
Time: 7:30 pm (6:00 pm in the general dining area if you would like to join for dinner)
Where: Southern Cross Club, Woden
