There have been some recent changes in the education and training requirements in order to gain the Traffic Control qualification in the ACT. In order for the training to meet the same requirements as that of NSW (and therefore be recognised within NSW), trainers now have to meet a revised criteria in order to conduct training.
Roads ACT have commissioned a provider that is developing the curriculum in accordance with the requirements of the Vocation Education and Training sector.
The provider has asked whether there would be anyone within the cycling community that has the following qualifications:
Certificate IV TAE Trainer and Assessor with the following units of competency
- RIICOM201D Communicate in the workplace
- RIIWHS201D Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures
- RIIWHS205D Control traffic with stop-slow bat
If you, or someone you know, holds a Certificate IV TAE Trainer and Assessor qualification with these competencies you would be eligible to oversee the training process.
If you hold this qualification and would be willing to be involved in training delivery, please contact John Armstrong at firstname.lastname@example.org or via phone on 6248 7995. Your participation would ensure we are able to continue with the development of the free Education and Training that enables cycling events within the ACT to continue.
