Pedal Power has a number of programs that support cycling in the ACT:

  • Cycle Well—to give people of all ages a chance to learn how to ride a bike
  • New Horizons—to give new cyclists the skills and confidence they need to become regular riders
  • Active Rides – provides an opportunity for 11-15 year olds to try a variety of cycling activities in a fun and inclusive environment
  • Cycle Works – a program to encourage more people to ride their bikes to work
  • Cycling Without Age – to allow elderly and less-able people to enjoy the freedom of cycling
  • Bike Maintenance courses—to help you learn how to do basic maintenance yourself
  • Ride to Work—to support the national Ride to Work program
  • Cycle friendly workplaces—to assess and rate the facilities for cyclists available in workplaces
  • Fitability—provides tandem riding opportunities for riders with vision impairment or other disabilities to experience the benefits and freedom that comes with cycling, get involved as a pilots or stoker
  • Town-centre cordon counts—to collect data on the numbers of people walking and riding bikes into and out of the town centres of Civic, Belconnen, Gungahlin, Tuggeranong and Woden for monitoring travel pattern changes and to assist in the planning of the transportation system
