Cycle to work, and work cycling into your life.
Do you ride your bike to work in the ACT, or would you like to?
Cycle Works is a new program that aims to get more Canberrans riding a bike to work.
114,000 people regularly ride a bike in the ACT. Yet only 3% of those people use their bike for transport.
Cycle Works will initially be a month-long challenge throughout April 2017. The challenge will aim to increase the number of people who ride to work in the ACT, and raise awareness of how healthy and active living can be incorporated into a busy lifestyle.
Joining the Cycle Works challenge is as simple as riding your bike. Current and prospective bike-riding commuters can visit the Cycle Works website and register to participate.
Riders who sign up for Cycle Works will set goals and accumulate kilometres as individuals and teams, to win challenges, prizes and – most importantly – bragging rights.
Once the April Cycle Works Challenge is finished, we hope that you will maintain the lifestyle changes you adopted during the month. The Cycle Works website will be maintained year-round, so you can track your progress throughout the year, with the aim of improving their performance for the next Challenge.
Pedal Power ACT hopes that Cycle Works will not only encourage more Canberrans to get on their bikes, but also educate the wider ACT public about cycling, bike safety and rider awareness.
We’d love you to get involved. Visit the Cycle Works website and find out more.
