Pedal Power ACT, in association with GTA Consultants, one of Australia’s largest transportation consultancies, has developed the Cycle Facilities Rating Scheme, the first rating scheme of its kind in Australia.
The purpose of the scheme is to give employers a benchmark by which they can assess how their workplace is doing in providing facilities for employees that choose to ride to work. Participating workplaces are given a star rating and also receive detailed reports including suggestions on how to improve the facilities they currently have.
Here’s some feedback from the National Library of Austalia:
“The Cycle Facilities Rating Scheme has helped the Library evaluate our current facilities for staff and plan for future improvements. It was good to be able to see how our facilities rated, and get ideas for improvements from the helpful staff.”
There is a wealth of evidence showing that cycling is a healthy activity and also showing that a healthy workforce is a productive workforce.
