FIRST WANDERERS (45 to 60+ km @ 18-22km/h average speed)

Sunday 17 February - 7.15 for 7.30am start Dickson College car park. From Duffy Street to Fairbairn Avenue the ride will pass through Duntroon on the way to the east side of LBG and Diary Flat Road. Taking the slip road south the ride will travel along the Monaro Highway all the way to the turn off to Jerrabomberra. We willride down Edwin Lane Parkway and then left onto the Old Cooma Road until we reach Queanbeyan city where we will transfer to the bike path that will take us past the railway station, the cemetery, Fyshwick, Kingston and then over Kings Avenue Bridge eventually coming to rest for a coffee at Regatta Point.  After coffee the route back to Dickson will be via Anzac Parade and the streets of Ainslie.  The return trip is 54 kms.



WANDERERS 23 (60 to 80+ km @ 21-25km/h average speed)

Sunday 17 February - 7.45 for 8.00am start car park opposite Tuggeranong Library.  Tuggeranong, Bike path to Streeton Drive, Eucumbene Drive, Cotter, Paddy’s River Rd, Tidbinbilla Rd, Point Hut Rd, Tuggeranong (70 kms).  Coffee at Moon Rock Café.

INTERMEDIATE (70 to 90+ km @ 23-26 km/h average speed)

Sunday 17 February - 7.15 for 7.30am Dickson College start car park.  Woodcraft Café at Bungendore via Captain Flat Rd, returning via Norton Rd (approx. 90 kms).


FAST INTERMEDIATE (80 to 100+ km @ 27-30 km/h average speed)

Sunday 17 February - 7.15 for 7.30am start Dickson College car park.The plan for this Sunday Gundaroo, coming back through Sutton.  This gives us the Cork St sprints, and the option of coffee at Gundaroo or Sutton.  We might even continue through Gundaroo to the first big hill.  From Sutton, we can easily come back along East Tallegandra Way/Mulligans Flat.  Or straight back down the highway. 86 kms.

More about Sunday Wanderer rides

Sunday Wanderer rides are longer rides (45 kms to 100 kms +) on sealed roads around the Canberra region, and include a café stop at locations such as Gundaroo, Gunning, Murrumbateman, Bungendore, Queanbeyan, Tharwa and local wineries. Riders with adequate fitness and stamina for the group selected are most welcome. Groups wait for slower riders to catch up.

Starting places and times vary depending upon the group and time of year, and rides are normally finished by around lunchtime. Please check upcoming ride details at the top of this page for the latest ride information.

  • 60-80+ km with a longer ride (up to 100 km) once a month
  • Two sub-groups:
    • average speed between 21-25 km/h
    • average speed 25km/h or greater
