Submitting an Event... and privacy
Anyone can submit an event for approval to be listed on the webpage. In the process we ask for your contact details. We may need to be able to contact you to clarify details etc. You may decide however that you want to withold your email address or phone number from the listing. Please tell us in the information you send. HOWEVER, it is traditional that members who want to go on a ride let the ride leader know they are coming....so it's a bit problematic if you withold contact information. To lead a ride you must be accredited
Rides Grading
Rides are graded consistently across the variety that members submit by the rides co-ordinator. if you have a problem with the ride and its grading, please contact us.
Who are the rides for?
Pedal Power rides listed in the calendar are open to everyone - members and non-members - and are usually free of charge. (There may be charges for 'events' like Fitz's ) The rides are conducted for leisure, pleasure, and relaxation. All you need is a bicycle and helmet. Don’t be put off with thoughts that you won't be fit enough to complete a ride. The easy and medium rides present no problem to the majority of people. The Ride Leader is also very aware of cyclists’ differing abilities and will make no demands on slower riders. So be in it. Check out the Ride Calendar and phone or email a Ride Leader now. Encourage your friends to come too. Provision can be made for non-riding and family members, by arranging a meeting place or only riding part of the way. Be aware during much of year both sun protection and plenty of water and are essential. naturally, we hope that after a few rides, you would join Pedal Power. Visiting riders should note that they are not necessarily protected by Pedal Power insurance arrangements.
PLEASE NOTE: All riders in Pedal Power organised rides must wear a helmet. Those riders without a helmet , not in possession of a formal medical exemption for a helmet, will be told to not ride with the group. Pedal Power rides obey all road rules and riders in the group will be expected to comply. Pedal Power ride leaders will always attempt to warn shared path users that there is a group of cyclists about to pass.
