It is a short (2km) and easy ride by bike from the bike path in Kings Park next to Lake Burley Griffin to the start of the Ainslie/Majura Ride. Leave the path at Blundells Farmhouse, ride north about 200m under Parkes Way onto Constitution Avenue. Turn left then immediately right into the quiet Anzac Park West, which runs parallel to Anzac Parade north towards the distinctive dome of the Australian War Memorial on the flanks of Mount Ainslie. Stop along the way to inspect the memorials lining Anzac Parade. Along the east side of Anzac Parade are the memorials to the Rats of Torbruk (unveiled in 1983), the Royal Australian Air Force (1973), the Royal Australian Navy (1986), and the Ataturk Memorial at the north end of the Parade. Flanking the western edge of Anzac parade are the Australia and New Zealand 1916-18 Memorial, the Vietnam memorial, the memorial to the Army, and the Australian- Hellenic Memorial at the northern end of the Parade. At the north end of Anzac Park East, head across the grass past the Ataturk Memorial onto the northern side of Fairbairn Avenue and into the entrance road to the War Memorial. Continue past the recently (1995) erected statue of Sir Edward Weary Dunlop and Poppies Cafe (open 9.30am to 5pm) and Memorial car park at the rear, to Trealor Crescent.
