Completion of the new path behind the Belconnen Arts Centre – the new path behind the Belconnen Arts Centre (BAC) is complete! The path leads behind the BAC, linking the lakeshore path from opposite John Knight Park to the lakeshore path opposite the Westfield.
[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”12″ display=”basic_thumbnail”]Belconnen Bikeway extension will complete the job – work is underway to extend the Belconnen Bikeway along Haydon Drive past CIT Bruce and onto the cycle paths to Civic. This will complete the original intent of the bikeway, allowing riders to cycle off-road the entire way from Coulter Drive to Civic.
William Hovell Drive duplication – Pedal Power is working with government on a redesign due to conflict with a dog walking area in the original designs.
This project will ensure bike riders can continue to commute along a 4.5km stretch between Molonglo Valley and West Belconnen. Pedal Power is advocating for the new shared path to be constructed away from fast-moving traffic, and with safe crossings on the road.
Developing links to Kippax and Strathnairn – Pedal Power continues to advocate for a shared path to fill this critical missing link.
Cycle path construction underway alongside Kuringa Drive – a new three-metre wide asphalt shared path along Kuringa Drive is complete. The path, between the Barton Highway and Owen Dixon Drive, follows years of lobbying by Pedal Power.
Upgraded path through John Knight park – a section of path through the popular John Knight Memorial Park has been completed.
