At its 31st October meeting, the Board welcomed our new Executive Director, Simon Copland and his successful first week with radio interviews about Fitz’s Challenge and his letter published in the Canberra Times.
The Board also had a useful discussion about advocacy and future advocacy directions informed by the views of a Pedal Power member.
Falling as it did on the day after the 2023 Fitz’s Challenge, the Board reflected on another successful event with some 600 registrations across 7 ride routes. The Board also discussed improving Pedal Power’s capacity to continue programs such as Cycle Well and Big Skills for Small Bikes which contribute so much to our objective of getting more Canberrans riding more often.
The Board also discussed the National Electric Vehicle Strategy and joint cycling organisations’ submission advocating for the inclusion of e-bikes.
