Changing of the guard

05 Sep 22 | By pp-admin | Pedal Power

Our CEO, Ian Ross, will be leaving Pedal Power in October to pursue a challenging new role with Hartley Lifecare.  This is a wonderful opportunity for Ian.  He is moving to a great local organisation which has strong links with Pedal Power and has been delivering services to people with a disability for over 60 years.

Ian has led Pedal Power for nearly five years. In that time, he has managed our organisation through the disappointments of bushfires and COVID impacting our signature events. During these challenging times he has retained his enthusiasm and kept our staff motivated.  Ian has also been very effective in engaging with Ministers and the ACT Government to pursue Pedal Power’s priorities. He has been instrumental in achieving significant advocacy successes such as the ‘A Metre Matters’ campaign with the Australian Federal Police and Pedal Power’s contribution to changing negligent driving laws. His lasting influence will be seen as the ACT Government rolls out its Active Travel Plan which has adopted many of Pedal Power’s recommendations.  These are significant achievements which will create a safer cycling environment in Canberra for our members.

The Board wishes Ian every success in his future career.  We will provide details about farewell arrangements shortly.  We have commenced a process to recruit Ian’s replacement.  The position is advertised on SEEK and Ethical Jobs so please pass on to anyone you know who might be interested in the opportunity to lead Pedal Power.
