We’re pleased to announce that former Senator and current NRMA Director Kate Lundy will be the guest speaker at our upcoming Annual General Meeting.
Kate will present a report, released by the NRMA and Pedal Power, which highlights how peak-hour congestion and parking in the ACT could significantly improve by increasing the number of people who cycle to work. Kate will address how increasing cycling rates are good for all road users and how Pedal Power and the NRMA will continue to work together in the future to boost cycling infrastructure.
Kate has been an NRMA director since March 2015. Her interests and experience are in the impact of technological change in our society, community and economy and she maintains a longstanding commitment to regional development. She retired as the Senator for the ACT in March 2015, having been first elected to the Federal Parliament in 1996. She was re-elected at every subsequent general election. She served as the Federal Minister for Sport and Multicultural Affairs and Minister Assisting for Industry, Innovation and the Digital Economy in the Gillard/Rudd Government.
We’re really excited to have Kate come and speak at our AGM and encourage all members to come along.
