As part of the raising London Circuit Project, the southern portion of London Circuit has been closed temporarily between Constitution and Edinburgh Avenue. The two western cloverleaf ramps off Commonwealth Avenue have also been permanently closed.
To assist with bus movements through the city, Vernon Circle north has been signalised and a dedicated bus lane has been installed allowing for prioritised movement of buses to Constitution Avenue.
As a result of this change, there is an increase of turning vehicles off Vernon Circle into Constitution Avenue. Cyclists are to be aware of turning vehicles when traveling on Vernon Circle southbound towards Commonwealth Avenue and when turning into Constitution Avenue, particularly in the morning peak.
To assist with movements a traffic controller has been placed at the intersection and additional signage is being installed.
Further improvements to this intersection are also being investigated by Major Projects Canberra and the contractor.
