Please join us for a social ride on Saturday 30 April, as part of a send-off for the Ride for Research (R4R) team, who are tackling a 900km ride from Canberra to Melbourne.
Pedal Power has organised a social ride to send the R4R team off in good spirits, as they embark on a nine day ride to fundraise for ovarian cancer research.
R4R event organiser Peter Reaburn said he is riding for his wife Claire. “Life throws curve balls at us,” he said. “Claire’s diagnosis with Rare Ovarian Cancer (ROC) in 2014 took us by surprise, given we lived a very active and healthy lifestyle.
“Retirement has given me time to put my love of fitness and cycling to a positive cause. The Ride 4 Research team thank Pedal Power riders and organisation for their support of our 12 riders who are riding from Parliament House ACT to Melbourne’s MCG, from Sunday May 1 to Sunday May 8. 900km over 9 days!
“We’d love you to join us for a gentle ‘get to know the team’ ride on Saturday April 30 from Acton waterfront, followed by a fundraising BBQ at Lennox Park from 12 noon. Help us raise awareness and funds for lifesaving research into rare ovarian cancer”.
