Work continues on the Monaro Highway upgrade project, approximately 10km south of Johnson Drive, which will impact bike riders in the area.
A variable message sign is in place, encouraging safer speeds. This will help make the area safer for cyclists while work is carried out.
There will also be lane closures commencing 28 April 2020, so please avoid the area if you can. Traffic signals will be used to control the flow of traffic. Following the completion of these works (expected to take 1 week), there will be a further lane closure near the start of the job to undertake pavement repairs. This will again be managed with temporary traffic signals and lane closures. This pavement work will take an extra 1-2 weeks to complete.
These provisions will hopefully keep cyclists safe during the upgrade work, but please take extra care if riding in this area.
