Big Skills For Small Bikes

A learn-to-ride course for kids aged 3–8 and their grown-ups

To build lifelong cycling habits, we need to start young, yet many parents don’t have the time or confidence to teach their kids how to ride. That’s where we come in.

Big Skills for Small Bikes is a fun, hands-on course that teaches parents and carers how to help their children ride confidently and safely. Designed for beginners, this program is perfect for kids who are still learning to ride without assistance.

Course Overview

  • Ages: 3–8 years

  • Who attends: One adult per 1–2 children. Adults must attend and participate.

  • What you need: Children must bring their own balance or pedal bike and an Australian standards helmet. Adults do not need bikes.

  • When: School holidays

  • Where: Lyneham High School, 61 Goodwin St, Lyneham, ACT

  • Cost: $150 per child (adults attend for free)

  • Curriculum: Developed by a Cycling Australia coach
