Free long-term bike loans for Canberra’s community

The Bike Library

Help us keep the wheels turning on the bike Library!

The Bike Library works just like a regular library—except instead of books, you borrow bikes!
We provide access to refurbished bikes, scooters, helmets, and locks for adults and children who need them most. Whether you're facing financial hardship, new to the city, or simply want to try riding before buying, the Bike Library is here to help.

📅 Loans are available for up to 6 months, with extensions available upon request.

How it works

  1. Bikes are donated by generous community members

  2. Volunteer mechanics refurbish and safety-check every bike

  3. We loan them out to the community—free of charge

It’s that simple.
