Have Your Say on Road Pavement Markings: ACT Road Resurfacing Program 2025–26
Including arterial and municipal reseals, asphalt resurfacing, and microsurfacing works.
Each year, the ACT Government undertakes a citywide road resurfacing program to renew and maintain Canberra’s road network. The 2025–26 program covers hundreds of sites across arterial and municipal roads, involving a mix of resealing, asphalt, and microsurfacing works. The proposal is to replace existing pavement markings (including cycle lanes, etc) unless they are advised that changes are desired by the cycling community.
Pedal Power members have been invited to provide feedback on desired changes before pavement markings are reinstated, and we’re asking members who regularly ride these routes to help identify where line markings and layouts could be improved for cycling safety and connectivity.
What to look for:
If you regularly ride along any of the listed roads or would like to ride on them, please take a look at the existing line markings and consider where improvements could be made. Examples include:
Extending or adding cycle lanes
Adjusting lane markings at intersections or roundabouts to reduce conflict points
Enhancing visibility and safety through clearer or wider shoulder lines
Identifying missing connections between cycle lanes or shared paths
How to provide feedback:
Review the list of proposed resurfacing sites below.
Note the specific road segment and describe the issue or improvement opportunity.
If possible, include photos or a map reference to help identify the location.
