Pedal Power Joins Grill’d Local Matters
Pedal Power is Proud to Announce That We are Joining the Local Matters Initiative This September!
What is Local Matters?
The Local Matters program is an initiative launched by Grill’d to give back to local community groups through their donation jar system. So far, they have amassed and distributed over $7 million, donated to more than 30,000 community groups since launching in 2011.
Every month, each Grill’d restaurant sets aside $500, which is a hefty $80,000 per month or $960,000 yearly. The 500$ is divided among three local initiatives selected by customer votes. The group that gets the most votes will receive 300$ to support their local impact!
Whether you are in it for the environment, health, sport, or community uplift, each token dropped at the counter directly powers local impact. To date, here’s how the money has been reinvested across key community categories:
Health & disability: ~$1.26 million
Community services: ~$1.40 million
Sport & recreation: ~$1.31 million
Animals & environment: ~$774 k
Every time someone grabs a Grill’d burger, whether in-restaurant or online, you get a token to vote for a cause close to their heart. It’s simple, yet powerful: your meal becomes a micro-investment in your own community
