Pedal Power Social Evening: A cycle around Taiwan before the Big Orange says go

  • Canberra Southern Cross Club Woden 92-96 Corinna Street Phillip, Australian Capital Territory, 2606 Australia (map)

🍽 Dinner optional from 6:00 pm | Talk begins at 7:30 pm

Earlier this year, Cora and her partner Ian spent 55 days cycling nearly 2,000 km through Taiwan. Their approach to travel is simple: “Organised trips are not travel!” They set off without a support crew or a detailed itinerary, planning to explore Taipei before riding an anticlockwise lap of the island and heading into the mountains.

Taiwan is only about 400 km long, but its high country promised plenty of climbing. How would their loose plan hold up once they were on the road?

Join us as Cora shares photos and stories from the journey, including the places they discovered and how their independent tour unfolded. Whether you’re dreaming of a cycling trip of your own or just curious to see Taiwan from the saddle, come along for an evening of travel and conversation.

Questions and discussion will follow the presentation.
