Pedal Power Social Evening: Siân Mulholland — A Lifetime in Cycling

  • Canberra Southern Cross Club Woden 92-96 Corinna Street Phillip, Australian Capital Territory, 2606 Australia (map)

🍽 Dinner optional from 6:00 pm | Talk begins at 7:30 pm

At just 10 years old, Siân Mulholland began racing in country NSW as the only girl in a field of around 30 boys. It was the beginning of a remarkable lifelong journey through cycling.

Throughout the 1980s, Siân represented NSW and Australia at track and road championships and other international events. Her love of riding has continued across road, track and mountain biking and she is still competing at state, national and world Masters track cycling championships today.

But Siân’s contribution to cycling extends far beyond racing. Since the early 2000s, she has coached able-bodied and para cyclists, delivered coach education and helped others develop their skills and confidence. She later became involved in school bike education programs and adult learn-to-ride classes, sharing her knowledge with riders of all ages and abilities.

Join us as Siân reflects on breaking into a male-dominated sport, competing at the highest levels, coaching the next generation and the experiences that have kept her riding and racing for more than five decades.

Whether you are a racer, recreational rider, coach or simply curious about an extraordinary life in cycling, this promises to be an inspiring and entertaining evening.

Questions and discussion will follow the presentation.
