Cycle In, Check Your Bike, and Go in the Draw 🚲

On Wednesday 15 October, Canberra riders will roll into the city for National Ride2Work Day – and this year there’s even more reason to join in. Not only will there be a free community breakfast in Veterans Park, but every registered rider will go in the draw to win fantastic prizes, including a $500 voucher from The Ride Shop and a basic bike service from Mojo Cycles. Add in free bike checks from skilled local mechanics, and you’ve got the best start to your working day on two wheels.

A $500 prize from The Ride Shop

Behind the generous voucher is Tim Palmer, owner of The Ride Shop in Braddon. Tim’s career has always been in retail, but his real passion has long been cycling – from bike racing to triathlons. In 1999, he decided to combine his skills and his passion by opening The Ride Shop in Manuka, before moving it to Braddon in 2003. Today, The Ride Shop is a hub for bikes, gear, and expertise, and Tim’s $500 prize is his way of backing the riders who keep Canberra’s cycling community thriving.

Free bike checks from The Ride Shop and Mojo Cycles

Both The Ride Shop and Mojo Cycles will be at Veterans Park on Ride2Work Day, offering free bike checks to keep everyone safe and road-ready.

Mojo Cycles has just opened a brand-new workshop at 2 Kingsley Street, expanding from their original mobile bike repair service into a full community-focused space. To celebrate Ride2Work Day, they’re also giving away a basic bike service valued at $70 – another great reason to register and ride in.

Join the ride – your way

Whether you prefer to ride solo, lead a ride, or join a group ride, there’s an option for everyone. The key is to register in advance – that’s how you’ll go into the draw for the prizes, and it helps us build a stronger picture of cycling in Canberra.

👉 Register now: National Ride2Work Day – 15 October

So, dust off your helmet, cycle in, grab a free breakfast, check your bike, and go in the draw for some brilliant prizes. Riding to work isn’t just fun – it’s good for your health, your finances, and the environment. Let’s make National Ride2Work Day 2025 the biggest celebration of commuter cycling yet.
