Easy Social Rides: Sunday Pedals, Good Company & Great Coffee
Rosemary Dupont | Easy Social Rides Leader
Looking to get back on your bike, build confidence, or just enjoy a chilled-out ride with a friendly bunch? Pedal Power’s Easy Social Rides are the perfect Sunday ritual; easy pace, scenic paths, and plenty of laughs along the way. Each ride kicks off at 9:00am from a different location, offering a new little adventure each week.
The Easy Social Ride on Sunday 27 April set off from the Wildbark Centre in Throsby and meandered through the heart of Gungahlin, weaving around tranquil ponds and under shady trees along leafy bike paths. It was a route full of natural beauty, with plenty of wildlife spotting along the way.
A group of 12 riders took part, reflecting the welcoming and diverse spirit of these rides. Among them were a local couple, one bravely recovering from knee surgery, and another rider easing back into cycling after an injury. A young family joined too; with five-year-old Maddie perched up front on her dad’s bike, giggling non-stop as he veered off the path for a few fun bumps.
Others came to boost their fitness or rebuild riding confidence, but all were rewarded with sunshine, good company, and a relaxed 19-kilometre loop that wrapped up with well-earned coffees at the Wildbark Café. A truly glorious morning on two wheels.
Sound like your kind of Sunday? You’re in luck, three Easy Social Rides are still to come in this round, all rides lead by accredited leaders.
