Your Presence Matters: Be Part of History - Join the Ride

This is it - the landmark event marking the culmination of Pedal Power’s 50th anniversary year. Join us for our Celebration and Demonstration Ride on Thursday, 13 November 2025 - a powerful moment to honour our past and shape Canberra’s future.

Fifty years ago, Canberra’s cyclists rode from Belconnen to Civic in protest, demanding safer paths for people on bikes. That ride sparked a movement - and Pedal Power was born. Now, half a century later, we ride again. This time, we’ll travel from Woden to Civic, calling for the completion of a separated bike lane along Adelaide Avenue before Light Rail Stage 2B construction begins.

But this is more than a ride. It’s a statement - that your presence matters. Every rider adds to the collective strength and visibility of our cycling community. When hundreds come together, we show decision-makers that Canberrans care deeply about safety, sustainability, and streets that work for everyone.

So bring your bike, bring your lights, and bring your voice. Together, let’s make sure cycling remains at the heart of Canberra’s next fifty years.

Be Part of the Team Behind the Ride

If you can’t join the ride but still want to be part of this milestone event, we’d love your help!
We’re looking for 2–3 enthusiastic volunteers to assist with set-up for the celebration at Lennox Gardens and to mind our site while riders are on the route.

It’s a chance to stand with Canberra’s cycling community and help make this historic event one to remember.
